Dwayne The Rock Johnson is an icon of the WWE. A star that grew through the Attitude era to dominate the Ruthless Aggression era is still going strong. The massive pop The Rock received when he returned to SmackDown is a clear sign of the star power he still has. However, one top star believes he can beat him.

This is not some random WWE newcomer who wants a match with The Great One. The loudmouth star has been throwing jabs at The Rock and others on social media for months now. Unfortunately, they are yet to collide in the squared circle.

Since his debut on the July 7 episode of SmackDown, Grayson Waller has wanted a feud with the legends of the WWE. His very first match in the WWE was against returning legend Edge as the main event at Madison Square Garden. Despite losing the match, he’s been running his mouth against other legends of the business, such as John Cena and The Rock.

After comparing his debut to The Rock’s at MSG, Waller claimed his rub would revitalize Rock’s movie career. The only thing Waller wants is for The Great One to appear on The Waller Effect. While fans are patiently waiting to see these two in the ring, Waller gave us the reason for wanting to square off with The Rock.

On the latest episode of The Ringer Podcast, Peter Rosenberg and Dip interviewed Waller. They brought up the backstage segment of Waller looking for The Rock during his return. This gave Waller the opportunity to talk about why he’s been after The Rock. “I like to test myself against the best,” Waller said. He continued that this is how he improves himself as a wrestler.

“I feel 100% I can compete and maybe even roll over him, which not many people can say they can do,” Waller added. He claimed The Great One is the best at what he does. In all aspects of wrestling, arguably no one is better than The Rock. In conclusion, he added that facing off with The Rock would be a great test for him. This can be taken as an open challenge to The Great One.

Its not just the WWE icon’s in-ring prowess that was subject to praise but another aspect of wrestling also got lauded by Waller.

Waller claims The Brahma Bull is the G.O.A.T. on the mic

Prior to talking about why he wanted to face The Rock, Waller took a moment to praise him. “The Rock is the GOAT on the mic,” Waller said. For wrestling fans, this is a sign of respect, as the majority cites Dwayne Johnson as being one of the greatest talkers in the WWE. Talking about his return, Waller claimed that despite being away from the WWE crowd, The Rock still knew how to get them going.

Before moving forward, Waller added, “I can appreciate that. He’s on a different level.” This is not the first time a wrestler has cited The Rock as an inspiration for great mic work. Since his rise to fame, The Great One has never disappointed on the mic or during backstage segments. This natural charm and charisma have gotten him over even while being a heel in the WWE. Today, Waller is among the best mic workers, and fans are excited to see the exchange he could have with The Rock.
