The ending segment of WWE RAW shocked the wrestling world. Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson attacked Cody Rhodes and did what he promised to do: make him bleed. Not only that, but Johnson also covered his belt with Rhodes’ blood and tears, as he said he would do. This surprise attack on Rhodes left the WWE speechless. However, one question lingered in the minds of fans: did Johnson plan this himself? On tonight’s episode of SmackDown, Paul Heyman made a shocking reveal.

Paul Heyman reveals that Roman Reigns ordered Dwayne Johnson to attack Cody Rhodes

Near the end of the show, Paul Heyman and The Bloodline were seen on a promo package where Heyman said, “The Final Boss took out Cody Rhodes; why? By orders of the Tribal Chief.” This proved that Roman Reigns was behind the attack. However, Johnson’s taking orders from Reigns does not fit his moniker for the Final Boss. This could be building up to the feud everyone wants to see, The Rock vs. Reigns. There has been tension growing between the two since day #1. Now, with Johnson being ordered around, Rhodes has good ammunition to use against him during their final promo.

Only time will tell if the WWE wishes to address this further on the go-home show of WWE RAW or SmackDown. With Johnson set to appear on the April 1 episode of WWE RAW, there could be something cooking if Rhodes returns. However, there could be others who avenge the beatdown. Rhodes is currently hospitalized after the beatdown. During the video, Jimmy Uso also claimed that he was ordered to take out Jey ahead of Mania XL. Next week Jey is set to face Solo Sikoa in a singles match.

The tension reportedly stems from a 2015 Royal Rumble, where fans booed Reigns’ winning. The Rock had come out to celebrate with his cousin but was booed along with him. The face Johnson had at the timing of booing seemed like he couldn’t understand why it was all happening despite being a babyface. Some speculate The Rock felt Reigns wasn’t ready for the top spot, and Reigns is unaware of this resentment. Additionally, both are top WWE draws now, potentially creating competition.
