“People Are Up for This” – Top Champion in WWE Aims for a Match Against His “End Boss” Brock Lesnar

Apart from acting as the road to WrestleMania, the Royal Rumble PLE served many more purposes. Particularly the traditional 30-men over-the-top feature match. It not only furthers existing storylines but also gives a different perspective to the fans. It gives them the opportunity to witness two performers who are not engaged in a feud having a go at each other.

This year’s event was no different as the audience got to witness some amazing face-offs. One of them involved Brock Lesnar. And the wrestler he had a moment with has spoken about the possibility of a future rivalry.

The fans are always on the lookout for the mini-battles that ensue during the Royal Rumble match. And it just so happens that this year’s match had a lot of those. Arch-nemesis Bobby Lashley eliminated Lesnar during the encounter. But not before he had a beat down with the Intercontinental champion Gunther.

A WWE superstar opens up on a possible feud with Brock Lesnar

The WWE universe appreciated their coming together as it saw a budding star go against a legend of the business. And Gunther recently opened up on a potential blockbuster rivalry between the two. Speaking at WWE After The Bell Podcast, he said, “So, obviously, I mentioned it before like that’s a match I definitely wanna have at some point in my career. And obviously, there was a lot of talk about going on especially online. But sometimes what is the thing online doesn’t translate to the live reaction“. 

“So I think that little moment I had with him there that that was all I needed right there. Because that was just the, the real life confirmation if it makes sense that people are up for this. Because that was just the, the real life confirmation if it makes sense that people are up for this“. added Gunther.

“So, I was really happy with how everything went down. I said it before like people portrayed me as like some sort of a Endboss character sometimes. And If there, if I have one Endboss I think Brock is the one. So, let’s see if everything aligns at some point and this can happen”. said this century’s longest Intercontinental champion. Gunther has previously also revealed his desire to face The Conqueror in a match.

A potential rivalry between the two would have a lot of takers

There are many who would be averse to the idea of a future clash between the two. It does not look possible right now, particularly with Lesnar having so much on his plate. But the possibility of them colliding in a battle is an exciting one. If done right, their rivalry could be huge for the WWE. And through his own admittance, Gunther looks quite interested in the probability of a possible feud.

The Austrian has already proven that he belongs in the big league. He has impressed one and all with his ring work that keeps on getting better by the day. Gunther has bested some of the best this business has to offer. Former WWE champions Sheamus and Rey Mysterio have both fallen prey to him. A potential clash with Lesnar may prove to be a completely different gravy for the Intercontinental champion.

He will be unlike other challenges that have been posed to ‘The Ring General’. Even though Gunther portrays a heel character on-screen many admire his grit. He demonstrates a lot of qualities that were once displayed by Lesnar at the start of his WWE journey. This similarity between the two is another reason why everyone wants this rivalry.

Brock Lesnar has come across a plethora of opponents during his long and rewarding career. His ongoing tussle against Lashley was once a dream contest for many. That feud has already given us some slobber knocker of matches and looks set to continue.

Fans would be hoping that similarly, they get to see a rivalry unfold between Lesnar and Gunther. Everything thing seems right about a potential collision, wish the powers that be at the top see it likewise. If judging by the insane reaction to the teaser that fans got at Royal Rumble, this has money written all over it.
