John Cena dipped his feet in the Stamford-based company for the second time earlier this year, this time to have his longest-ever run with the company. Ever since, fans have been heavily speculating over Cena’s next big rival in the company. After Jimmy Uso and Grayson Waller, one 38-year-old SmackDown star didn’t rule out the possibility of him being the next opponent for Cena.
Karrion Kross triggered the rumor of him having a one-to-one match with John Cena as his sneaky stare on the latter’s SmackDown segment went viral. Kross’s numerous signals afterward cranked things up even more. Now, once again, The White Rabbit discussed the potential dream match during his latest interview.

Karrion Kross reflected on his potential match with John Cena
Karrion Kross never had the luck to face The Champ from opposite ends of the ring. But he has huge respect for the 16-time WWE World Champion. Three years ago, Kross expressed how awesome it would be to have Cena as an opponent in a match, as it would be a battle of two generations.
Now, as the rumors start to pick up steam again, the New Yorker weighed in on the same during his recent interview with Chris Van Vliet. He noted that the match wasn’t impossible at all.
Explaining the very start of his fantasy over a match with Cena, Kross stated, “During the lockdowns, fans were fantasy booking tons of stuff; they started fantasy booking me vs John Cena — that blew my mind, I was still in NXT. I was expecting ideas and concepts like that would come at a later time one day when I’m on the main roster. They were already saying, ‘I want to see that.'”

Keeping this immense craze of fans in mind, Kross wanted to just check if the enthusiasm still runs the same or not. ”I just thought I’d put it out there and see how people still felt about it. There were a lot of people who didn’t forget”, he added.
However, despite craving a match with Cena, Kross still didn’t totally approve of the latter’s GOAT status.
Karrion Kross gave brownie points to Stone Cold Steve Austin over John Cena
Although the SmackDown star admires Cena for his extraordinary wrestling skill, when it comes to the question of the highest contribution to the business, he had his vote on Stone Cold Steve Austin. Kross believes what Austin did for the business, despite being forced to hang up his boot early due to his injuries, is simply incomparable.
