Until now, everyone who isn’t living under a rock knows about the decisions taken by the new authority at Warner Bros. They wiped the slate clean of everything that the DCEU had built up, including Superman and Batman’s previous iterations. This also meant that further plans to expand Dwayne Johnson’s movie, Black Adam were scrapped. This led Dwayne Johnson to take his leave from the franchise swiftly.
But there were many plans that The Rock had in his head about the franchise going forward. He even talked a lot about them in the interviews leading to Black Adam’s release, but it wasn’t enough to convince the fans to throng the theatres and show their support for the movie.

Instead, this led to the media coming down on The Rock’s movie’s poor box office performance. The Rock tried to minimize the damage but this only led to more bad publicity. Later Johnson got involved in his football league and didn’t mention Black Adam or the DCEU again. But, according to the fans, WWE is pointing to Johnson’s forgotten role in the upcoming movie, Shazam: Fury of the Gods.
WWE airs the Shazam: Fury of the Gods trailer leading to multiple speculations
During the opening match at SmackDown this week, WWE aired the trailer of the upcoming DCEU movie, Shazam: Fury of the Gods. While it took away from the amazing match in the ring, Fightful Wrestling’s Sean Ross Sapp called out that the Forbidden Door had opened. He mentions this as the same night, on AEW Rampage, Tony Khan dedicated a whole segment to reveal the trailer for the same movie as well.

But that is not the full picture for the fans. According to some of them, this trailer could be a dig at The Rock himself as he was supposed to be the cameo in the movie, instead of the one there is at the moment.
Fans troll Dwayne Johnson as the trailer airs on SmackDown
Before his exit from the DCEU, Johnson was rumored to make a cameo in this movie. While he did decline any chance about a cameo before, this movie made all the sense in the world to bring Johnson’s Black Adam into the DCEU.
This fan believes WWE was trying to make a joke about The Rock.
Somewhere there is a joke about The Rock not doing cameos screaming to come out but I'm just not talented enough to think of the right punchline.

Is this why the Rock refused to be in Shazam he didn’t want to open the Forbidden Door.

Everyone has to be put against the Tribal Chief, Roman Reigns himself to prove themselves.
Shazam can't dethrone Roman Reigns. No-sell the lighting!

This fan recalled the time when everyone believed that The Rock would be leading the DCEU. Now, it seems like John Cena will be the only ex-WWE star to stick close to the DCEU.

The Shazam commercials everywhere made me think… how funny is it that the Rock thought he was gonna run DC, and it will probably end up being John Cena that carries them?

As people are speculating about The Rock making an appearance at WrestleMania 39, it would not be wise to do this to him. Do you think that WWE intentionally ran the trailer or was it just a coincidence?
