After her incredible defense against Becky Lynch at WrestleMania 40, Rhea Ripley paid the price for underestimating a genuine threat: Liv Morgan.  The superstar in question injured the Women’s World Champion’s shoulder on Raw.

After a brutal backstage attack by Liv Morgan, Ripley began to suffer from issues in her right shoulder, and a few days back on an episode of Raw, Ripley sadly announced that she would be vacating the title. Ever since, fans have been awaiting the return of ‘Mami’, who recently provided an injury update on her social media.

Mami has become one of the biggest names in WWE’s women’s roster over the past year. But her current injury issue has halted her meteoric rise. And recently on her social media, she uploaded a picture of her office, which featured several title belts as well as photographs of Ripley’s iconic moments. And in the caption to the picture, she provided an update on her fitness as she simply wrote, “Progress”.

The loss of Mami is sure to affect the Stamford-based promotion considering the plans they had for her. But another entity that could suffer even more due to the absence of The Eradicator is her faction: The Judgment Day. Tensions have flared in the group between its members, with Damian Priest drawing a line in the sand on Raw. WWE Hall of Famer Bully Ray had a few choice things to say on the Busted Open Radio about Ripley’s injury. He suggested that it may not be as serious as many fear it will be for her. So it shouldn’t be long before the former champion comes for the title again. But was taking her completely off TV the right decision? One former WWE personality doesn’t think so.

Vince Russo wants Mami to keep appearing

Rhea Ripley is away from WWE programming as she recovers. However, she could surely do a lot on Raw without having matches and even without being the World Champion just like CM Punk. But the company seems to have made the decision to allow her to rest one hundred percent. Which is the best thing for her to return with all the strength in the world. Now, Vince Russo too thinks she should stay on TV.

The former WWE writer from the 90s shares his opinion every week on Legion of Raw after the red brand show and in the most recent episode of the podcast, he dedicated a few words to the situation of Mami. He said, “Bro, back in the Attitude Era, if somebody got hurt, they were still on the show. They just wouldn’t wrestle. We did that all the time. If Austin would get hurt or The Rock, I would say, ‘Okay, they’re gonna be on the show, we’ll write them on the show. They’re just not gonna wrestle.”

He further added, “Rhea Ripley is a huge star. Why can’t they write for her without having her wrestle? I don’t understand this… Why isn’t she on the show now? She’s got her arm in a sling, she can’t get on an airplane?” Well, Russo surely wants Mami to still be a part of the WWE programming and arguably for good reason. The Judgment Day is in disarray and the championship scene has moved on from Ripley. It won’t be surprising to think that The Eradicator will want to stamp her authority on things and reestablish her ambitions. What do you think? Should the WWE bring Ripley like they brought Punk? What did you make of the WWE star’s injury update? Let us know in the comments.
