Seth Rollins has proven himself to be one of the most unstoppable stars on the WWE roster. While he has successfully defended his WWE World Heavyweight Championship, he did so with an injured back. While he was already dealing with a ‘real’ injury, he sustained another career-threatening injury during his title defense against Jinder Mahal on the 1/16 episode of Monday Night Raw.

This week on Raw, fans saw him talk about his injuries. While fans were worried that he might be “put on the shelf”, something that happened with Charlotte Flair recently, he has some good news for his fans.

In an interview with ESPN, The Visionary spoke about his “timeline” and how his injuries are looking at the moment. He stated that he had “dodged a bullet” as his ACL is intact and experts have told him that his partially torn MCL will heal over time. Rollins further said, “I’m hoping to be back at full strength in around a month, [that’s] my kinda timeline.” He said that he will be taking it one day at a time and is trying to get back in action as soon as possible.

The star stated that he doesn’t want his first match out of physical rehab to be at WrestleMania 40 as he believes that might prove disastrous for him. ” I want to be able to get back in there, test the wheels & make sure we’re in a good place so we’ll see how it goes.”

He concluded by saying, “I’m happy we dodged a bullet and wasn’t anything too serious that was gonna put me on the shelf for 6-9 months,” possibly hinting at the current state of Charlotte Flair.

Fans could not forget about the moment when disaster struck. Further in the interview, Rollins talked about what happened that led to the injury.

What went wrong?

Speaking with ESPN, Rollins, the current World Heavyweight Champion, recounted the moments before the disaster.  As fans remember, Rollins suffered the injury as he was defending his title against Jinder Mahal. The 37-year-old star stated that he did a move that he does all the time, called the Moonsault. However, what happened was instead of landing on Mahal, he landed a little too short which led to the injury.

He further added that his knee hyperextended. While he did not feel a lot of “pop” in his knee, he stated that he could feel that his knee stretched a bit too much. Following that, he said that he tried to get a hold of himself as they were performing live on television. He and Mahal then quickly figured out a way to end the match quickly and in a way that might not hurt Rollins further.

One take at a time

For me pro wrestling has two things that I like the most, storytelling and fighting. Let?s just say movies are failing to keep me entertained in those departments. I grew up watching WWF and not WWE and any hardcore fan will agree that the two are not the same, but I love both iterations.
