WWE Legend’s Night saw the Legend Killer on the prowl for easy victims. Randy Orton has not been enjoying himself lately after the Apex Predator’s feud with The Fiend went up in flames, literally. Alexa Bliss also set herself on fire, leaving the Viper with nothing to sink his teeth into. Fortunately for him, Jeff Hardy became easy prey for the Viper.

On WWE RAW, Randy Orton faced Jeff Hardy in an exciting rematch from their 2018 series. Orton and Hardy last clashed in a brutal and brilliant Hell in a Cell match which saw Hardy crash and burn through a table after he swung from the top of the cell roof. Randy Orton took things to the next level in that match by shoving a screwdriver threw Jeff’s year, mangling it in the process.

On Raw, Orton repeated that same manoeuvre that made for a grotesque sight. Instead of a screwdriver, Orton used his fingers to yank Hardy’s earlobe apart from the rest of his ear.

This type of vicious attack softened Hardy up for the rest of the match. It really shook Hardy and took him out of his element. This is a testament to Orton’s ability to play mind games in a very physical way.

Jeff hit a few of his trademark moves like the Whisper in the Wind and even a massive dive to the outside as Orton tried to escape a Swanton Bomb attempt. Orton won the match via an RKO out of nowhere, a finish that called back to their WWE Title match at the 2008 Royal Rumble. It was a very enjoyable match full of nostalgic callbacks.

The Apex Predator was not in a very nice mood on RAW. He walked up to several legends and berated them to their face. Most of the legends were in too good a mood to mess with the Viper but were also vary of the amount of damage Orton could do to them.

Orton met Mark Henry backstage, a man who once humiliated him in the ring. Big Show also went toe-to-toe with Randy in 2020 but did not want to get into a fight with him on Legend’s Night. Finally, he met Ric Flair, his former mentor. Instead of a sweet gesture, Orton humiliated Flair and called him a pathetic old man.
