Orton wrestled in the New Year’s Revolution Chamber match. In 2005, Orton wasn’t a part of Evolution, which pit him against Triple H and Batista. He eliminated Batista with a devastating RKO, before Evolution cost the young Viper the match.

Orton’s next Chamber appearance came in 2010, when he challenged for Sheamus’ WWE Championship. With his legacy teammate Ted DiBiase Jr. with him, the Viper was a favourite to win the match. However, the Viper was pinned by Dibiase after an Attitude Adjustment by John Cena.

In 2011, Orton received another shot at the WWE Championship in the Elimination Chamber. With CM Punk, John Cena, Sheamus, John Morrison and R-Truth, Orton had the odds stacked against him.

The Viper eliminated CM Punk with the RKO, but Punk’s pod door malfunctioned. With the mistake corrected, Orton met his doom with a GTS.

Randy Orton has finished a runner-up twice in the Chamber

In his fifth attempt at winning the Elimination Chamber match, Randy Orton faced a tough task with Chris Jericho, Daniel Bryan, Kane, Mark Henry and the returning Jack Swagger.

Orton picked up two crucial eliminations; Chris Jericho and Mark Henry. Henry then attacked Orton out of frustration, tossing the Viper through the plexiglass covering.

Despite the attack, Orton persevered and stayed till the final two, before he was rolled up by Jack Swagger. This was the second time Orton finished runner-up in the Chamber match.

Orton has won only one Chamber match

In 2014, Orton entered the Chamber as the WWE World Heavyweight Champion. He was the Authority’s poster boy and the favourite to main event WrestleMania. Unfortunately, the Viper faced five former World Champions inside the Chamber.

Being the last person to enter the Chamber, the champion found himself cornered by his opponents. He tried to lock himself in his pod, but a Brogue Kick from Sheamus broke his shield.

Orton eliminated John Cena after the Wyatt Family interrupted the match. With Daniel Bryan and him being the final two, both Superstars engaged in a brilliant ultimate showdown.

With the help of Kane, Orton delivered a thundering RKO to Bryan and won his first Elimination Chamber.

Will Orton win this Sunday?

Orton was unlucky in the 2019 Chamber match, but 2021 might be the year for him. He meets many of his former rivals, in Kofi, Drew McIntyre, Sheamus, AJ Styles and Jeff Hardy. Orton is familiar with each of the other participants, and his experience in the structure gives him a distinct advantage.
