Ahead of the latest SmackDown taping, Vince McMahon announced his retirement from WWE. He was the longest chairperson of the company since acquiring the company from his father in the year 1982.

We saw many current and former WWE stars pay their respects to Mr. McMahon after announcing his retirement.

One of the former WWE superstars Michelle McCool too shared an Instagram post to pay her gratitude to Vince McMahon. The former Divas Champion led the Women’s division in the company during her time in WWE.

McCool in her post thanked Mr.McMahon for every opportunity he gave her and whatever he has done for her. Following this, she wrote “we love you!” on behalf of her family and her fans.

Vince McMahon shared the news of his retirement through his Twitter account. He also shared a full statement on WWE.com

In his Twitter post, he expressed his gratitude to everyone. Moreover, he thanked the fans whom Mr.McMahon got to entertain for four decades. Lastly, he thanked his family, friends all the WWE superstars to support him while he was the captain of the ship named WWE.

In the wake of the certain event of Mr. McMahon retiring, WWE has nominated other CEOs. Stephanie McMahon and Nick Khan will act as Co-CEOs. Mr. McMahon will support the officials being the major shareholder of the company with 51% shares.

A dive into the WWE career of Vince McMahon

It was speculated that Vince McMahon announced retirement after the Hush Money Allegations reports by the Wall Street Journal. However, he will still be the major shareholder of the company and guide the officials when he gets a chance.

McMahon made his debut as an in-ring announcer for the WWWF’s All-Star Wrestling. He later became the play-by-play commentator for television matches in 1971, a role he regularly maintained until November 1997.

Vince McMahon took ownership of WWWF and turned it into WWF in the 80s. He, however, portrayed himself as a commentator in the company back then. He started appearing as a character on WWE TV after the Montreal Screwjob, as the attitude era came.

The rod was hot due to the Montreal incident, and he became a character for the betterment of the business. WWE quickly established Vince McMahon as a heel and portrayed as a gimmick of Evil Boss.

Mr. McMahon also had an in-ring career as a WWE Character. He had some great matches with Stone Cold Steve Austin. He won Royal Rumble in 1999 and is a one-time WWE and ECW Champion. His last match came this year at WrestleMania 38 against Pat McAfee. It was an impromptu match which he wrestled at 76 years old and won.
