WWE has just faced another disaster in the ratings war this week. In spite of the various changes that Vince McMahon has made and the amount of content the writers are managing to put together, the company can’t seem to turn the tide of the fast dropping viewership ratings.
Since the beginning of the pandemic, WWE has not been able to fill the deep void left by the absence of fans. With revenue streams cut out completely, the company has had to make a lot of budget cuts and layoffs.

A lot of mouthwatering storylines have also sprouted. Rey Mysterio vs Seth Rollins has been a particularly good one.
At the Horror Show at Extreme Rules, viewers were brought to the event out of pure curiosity. This was due to the exciting and unique stipulations planned.
Unfortunately, it seems that WWE cannot curb the fall of its viewership. In February this year, when business was booming, WWE was already in a bit of a slump.
It averaged at 2.29 million viewers which was considerably less compared to the same record of 2.67 million viewers the previous year.

Times got even worse. In may, WWE’s viewership dropped by 14% down to just 1.77 million viewers. It was a steep 23% drop within just three months!
WWE RAW reached a record low this week
In a recent post on Twitter, Journalist Dave Meltzer tweeted that the latest episode of RAW did horribly in ratings.
Orton vs Show did a 0.42 18-49 in Q3. That is staggeringly bad when put into perspective. Worst quarter performance in 27+ year history of the show for a bout promoted for weeks.

To give you an idea of how fast the fortune cookie is crumbling for WWE, as of June 15, RAW had 1.939 million viewers. As of July 6, that is its latest episode, it has just 1.697 million viewers.

Vince McMahon’s decision to replace Paul Heyman with Bruce Prichard in an attempt to plug this drainage doesn’t seem to be working as well as he’d want it to.
Fans may soon grow tired of seeing Randy Orton fill in the gaps till Edge returns by setting him up against Christian and Big Show. The video of Big Show accepting Randy Orton’s challenge for the Unsanctioned Match was the lowest viewed video for the week on WWE’s YouTube Channel.

The next few weeks will be crucial to saving RAW. Only time will tell if WWE manages to prevent their main roster from total viewership decay.
