Shawn Michaels is one of the greatest wrestlers to ever grace a pro wrestling ring. HBK rose to prominence and became a top star in WWE during the mid 90s. However, being the top guy also led to him having a really bad attitude. This lead to a moment when The Undertaker literally waited to get his hands on him.

During the latest episode of Something to Wrestle, Bruce Prichard recalled the time when the ‘Deadman’ was waiting backstage to get his hands on Shawn Michaels. Why? Well, there was a lot of tension in the air that night, especially concerning Michaels.

Prichard said, “Shawn had not been the most cooperative person during that day. And wasn’t the most popular guy in the locker room by any stretch of the imagination.”

The story is Shawn Michaels did not want to lose the WWF Championship to Stone Cold at WrestleMania XIV. Everyone backstage, including The Undertaker were worrying that Michaels would not go as per plan.

He continued, “Throughout the day, throughout the night there was all sorts of rumor and innuendo. ‘Is Shawn gonna do business, is he going to do everything he needs to do?’ And Taker just wanted to be there to confront him on the way back if Shawn did not do what he was supposed to do that night.”

Luckily, the ‘Heartbreak Kid’ did not do anything other that what WWE had planned. He put over Stone Cold Steve Austin, and also took a knockout punch from Mike Tyson as the WWE Universe roared over Stone Cold and Tyson standing tall together.

Stone Cold Steve Austin has also talked about this incident in the past. In fact, Austin even said that it was a pain to even get to the match between him and Michaels at WrestleMania. Well, all we can say is thankfully HBK dropped the title to Austin. Or who knows? He could’ve had a black eye coming, courtesy of The Undertaker.
