The Wrestling world rose in applause as WWE announced that former WCW president Eric Bischoff would be inducted in the Hall of Famer class of 2021. Everyone agreed with this decision and lauded it, but it seems that Booker T has mixed feelings about it.
The WWE legend didn’t seem to grasp the logic behind inducting Bischoff into the Hall of Fame and believes that his area of work does not warrant an induction. Speaking on The Hall of Fame podcast, Booker explained himself and his views.

“I’m in between it honestly. I don’t have a vote, who gets into the Hall of Fame or not or anything like that. Do his accomplishments, you know, excuse me, his body of work, mount up to Hall of Fame stats? I don’t know how we’re measuring those stats,” stated Booker. “Be honest. Because when I look at the Hall of Fame in the wrestling business, I look at Hall of Fame as the wrestling. Okay? Just about everybody that goes in the Hall of Fame, they wrestle.”
Booker T believes men like Jim Ross in the Hall of Fame is a different argument
Booker stood true to his argument, but co-host Brad Gilmore did hit him with some pretty iron-clad logic. Gilmore argued that men like Jim Ross, “Mean” Gene Okerlund, and Teddy Long did not wrestle themselves but played integral parts as announcers and officials respectively.

The former World Heavyweight Champion was also in awe of the fact that Sylvester Stallone got into the Boxing Hall of Fame, but agreed to the fact that Paul Heyman should be in the Hall of Fame despite being an on-screen character like Eric Bischoff.
“I’m not taking Eric Bischoff off the Hall of Fame or anything like that. I’m just trying to figure out what would us to the point when someone like Eric Bischoff gets in the Hall of Fame,” claimed Booker.

Booker T obviously did have a strong opinion against Bischoff entering the hall of Fame but failed to adequately justify himself when a different name was placed in the same boots.
Perhaps he couldn’t really put his frame of mind into words but Eric Bischoff does deserve to be in the Hall of Fame solely because of his work with WCW, without which the Attitude Era never would have existed.

Booker certainly does need to explain himself further, but until then he is amongst the small minority that believes that Eric Bischoff does not deserve to be inducted into the Hall of Fame.
