WWE shocked the world with the release of its main roster talents last night, and a lot of fans are livid by the fact that most of them never really got a chance to shine in the company. One of the most choking names on the list was that of Peyton Royce, who was believed to be in for a push.

Royce, once part of the IIconics with Billie Kay, cut a very convincing promo on Raw weeks before WrestleMania 37, where she staked her claim on the Raw Women’s Championship, held by Asuka then.

This more than assured fans of her involvement with the championship scene in the future until WWE made it a one-off against Asuka, where she failed to achieve the victory.

Following her release, Peyton Royce took to Twitter to express her gratitude towards the WWE Universe and to Triple H and Vince McMahon for giving her the golden opportunity to work in the business.

WWE not only released Royce but also her former partner Billie Kay who was also involved in a role that fans thought would eventually take off but ended up crashing on SmackDown.

The IIconics are no more and WWE has ridden itself of a very capable tag team that shouldn’t have been split up in the first place. We are eager to see where the two end up next, and if they unleash their potential on fans in the future.

Climbing up the wrungs of WWE development, Royce was an NXT product and earned her stripes there before moving to the main roster. She and Billie Kay proved to be outstanding performers in the tag team scene and proved to be a good answer to the gap seen in the division with respect to the format.

WWE rewarded them with the Women’s Tag Team Championship, and they remained competitors for it till their split last year. Both Superstars have what it takes to succeed as solo Superstars given their flawless promo abilities and in-ring capabilities, but we would like to see a reunion somewhere down the line, sooner rather than later.
