In a recent post on Instagram, WWE announced that ‘The Scottish Psychopath’ will take on Randy Orton in the main event.

However, the stakes aren’t as high as their previous battles. The title won’t be on the line, so McIntyre will walk out as the champion unless Miz gets any wild ideas.

For avid watchers of the show, this will be a good little throwback to the best rivalry of 2020. Following the heated feud with Edge that was placed on hold after Backlash, Randy Orton shifted his focus to Drew McIntyre.

Orton wanted the WWE Championship at all costs and started a huge feud with McIntyre for the gold. The two fought through the latter half of 2020, and Randy managed to clinch the title at Hell in a Cell.

‘The Viper’ ingeniously dodged the Claymore Kick to RKO drew and win by pinfall. However, this run was disappointingly short for Orton, and he quickly lost the Championship on the next episode of Raw.

Drew McIntyre will have to close the door on Randy Orton again

Drew put the huge rivalry to rest by regaining the title, and Orton started feuding with “The Fiend” and Alexa Bliss. However, it looks as if bad blood will curdle once again as the two meet in the ring tonight.

Everyone thought the rivalry was done and dusted, and so did the WWE Champion.

‘The Celtic Warrior’ may play an important role in the fight against Orton, but then again, Randy may also be troubled by Alexa Bliss. Both competitors have other worries on the back of their minds as they enter the ring tonight.
