Edge has been out of WWE for a good time since his last appearance. The former WWE Champion has a huge feud with Randy Orton which has apparently ended in defeat for him.

After cutting a promo warning Orton of his return, ‘The Rated-R Superstar’ failed to return to deliver on that promise. The two were supposed to have a showdown at SummerSlam but that never happened.

Edge’s tricep muscle injury has put him out of action for over 3 months. This prolonged duration out has kept him out of the entire chain of events.

For this reason, WWE may be planning something else for him. According to WrestleVotes, WWE is considering the possibility for an Edge vs “The Fiend” storyline.

This would be a dream storyline if it were to materialize. The viability of it is also very high. The major reason for the two Superstars is that they have no solid feud at the moment.

“The Fiend” and Edge would be the perfect fit against each other

“The Fiend” dropped his old demons in Roman Reigns when he left SmackDown in the draft. He does not seem interested in continuing the stagnant feud against Braun Strowman either.

With all major Raw Superstars already occupied in storylines, “The Fiend” has no direction other than Firefly Funhouse promos with Alexa Bliss.

With Goldberg nowhere in the vicinity, Edge seems like a very good option for the masked villain.

Edge, on the other hand, is out of sync with the storyline. Missing out on one of the best versions of Randy Orton, the former WWE Champion is down and out.

In his absence, Randy segued into Drew McIntyre’s path and managed to win the WWE Championship. Fans expected Edge to return before WrestleMania and win the Championship although it’s less likely now.

‘The Rated-R Superstar’ will most likely face “The Fiend” and this would probably go on to be the storyline in focus over the next few months. If Edge returns, it would probably be in December if not the new year.
