WWE Legend JBL Is Stunned After Shelton Benjamin Hits a Thunderous Clothesline on Raw

Shelton Benjamin has been bringing in the extreme off late on Raw and fans speculate he may be in for a championship push. After the split with long-time partner Cedric Alexander, he may now be in for a solo run that could pack a title down the line. 

In a recent post on Twitter, WWE Hall of Famer JBL expressed admiration for Benjamin’s clothesline, joking that they wouldn’t be friends anymore if he was on the receiving end of the arm.

Indeed, Shelton Benjamin does look like a renewed soul after his latest turn on Raw. Splitting up with The Hurt Business has meant loss-after-loss for him and his partner Cedric Alexander, and Benjamin probably realized eventually that a solo run would benefit him more as well.

After cutting his partner loose, Benjamin may set his sights on one of the titles. The United States Championship could be the perfect opportunity for him since Sheamus has kept open challenges for anyone on the roster. 

If WWE does plan to put a title on him, that is thence that could. Out probably be in line. However, we cannot rule out a potential direct challenge to Bobby Lashley as well down the line. Benjamin could seek revenge for the betrayal now that he does have the momentum. 

Bobby Lashley has bigger problems than Shelton Benjamin

Speaking of the WWE Championship, Bobby Lashley has plenty of problems to deal with, bigger than any he’s had before. The former Champion Drew McIntyre is relentlessly pursuing him to regain what he claims is rightfully his, and Brain Strowman has managed to successfully throw his sword in the feud as well. 

The two were unable to beat Lashley at WrestleMania Backlash, but will undoubtedly be back for Hell in a Cell. ‘The All Mighty’ is the dominant Champion and does not back down from any challenge put in front of him. 

This entire storyline raises one question – What about Cedric Alexander? The former Raw Tag Team Champion is now on his own once more and has been betrayed by Lashley and MVP. He also decided t cut ties with his partner Shelton Benjamin. 

This could mean a solo run for him as well in this rivalry with Benjamin. Fans still question why the company split The Hurt Business up, but only time will tell how that storyline plays out in terms of the bigger picture.
