A night of surprises for Randy Orton, Christian and the fans

After obliterating Edge at Backlash, Orton came out on Raw to gloat about his victory. He berated the Rated R Superstar saying that he had sent him home for another nine years. That was a cheap reference to the legitimate injury suffered by Edge in the match.

His best friend Christian couldn’t take it any more. He interrupted and called Orton a few bad names. Randy took another cheap shot and said that Christian was jealous of Edge and that he desperately wanted one more match.

However, as he wasn’t medically cleared to compete, Orton challenged him to an unsanctioned match. As crazy as that idea sounds, the match did take place after some good buildup throughout Monday Night Raw.

This includes Ric Flair who constantly discouraged Christian from risking his life in a brutal match. However, the captain charisma was out for revenge and he wasn’t letting anyone stop him. As the match was about to begin, Ric again came out to stop Christian for one last time.

However, Christian told him to go. As Flair seemingly left the ring, he pulled off the biggest twist of the night by low blowing Christian. The Viper took care of his carcass by delivering a devastating punt kick.
