WWE announced two things last Monday Night – First, the immensely popular Shane McMahon will be back. Second, he brings a new segment of RAW with him, named RAW underground.
After a year-long absence, Shane O’Mac announced that this new segment would take place in the WWE performance center. WWE superstars will battle in a ring with no ropes and “no rules” in a dimly litted room.
The setting is unlike the arena matches with titantron entrances, explosives, and audience. The segment is somewhat reminiscent of Lucha Underground.

Brutal matchup on Raw Underground
This week was the second edition of Underground with Riddick Moss and Cal Bloom battling it out. Unlike the traditional black and white stripes, the referee donned an all-black attire, and Shane himself served as the commentator.
Cal and Riddick brawled all over and outside the ring because there were “no rules” in Underground. Cal, the son of Wayne Bloom (of Beverly Brothers), is a second-generation wrestler, and Riddick Moss has been with WWE since 2014.

Moss won the WWE 24/7 Championship in February this year. On the other hand, Cal was signed in 2019. Since then, he has had a meteoric rise.
He is even being compared to Edge, a WWE Hall of Famer.

Throughout the match, Bloom dominated Moss until they took the match outside the ring. Pummeling him into some metal poles and tin, Moss planted Bloom on the canvas for the win.
Underground also saw the RAW debut of Brazilian wrestler Arturo Ruas. Former NXT Women’s Champion Shayna Baszler appeared and defeated three talents as the show ended.
RAW Underground and the return of Shane McMahon is considered to be the new strategy to save the declining ratings of WWE. With the never before seen setting and surprise superstars, this division holds a lot of potential.

However, without any direction or storyline or major superstar, this segment could turn into a boring one. Anything can happen in the future. Everything depends on WWE’s creative minds now.
