WATCH: Rey Mysterio and Dominik assault Seth Rollins ahead of Summerslam

Thanks to Seth Rollins, it has been one month since we have seen Rey Mysterio in the WWE. Mysterio lost his eye after a horrific ending to his match at the Horror Show at Extreme Rules.

After a month of absence, Rey Mysterio returned tonight on Monday Night RAW with a patch on his eye. Mysterio needed to be there after Rollins’ horrific beatdown on his son Dominik.

Mysterio revealed how he felt after having to witness his own flesh and blood in agony after Dominik was punished by Rollins and Murphy. Rey felt gutted as he wasn’t there to protect Dominik. Check out the actual event in the link below.

The former world champ would then reveal horrific news i.e. he may never recover from his eye injury. However, Rey promised he is going to be in Dominik’s corner and watch him kick Rollins’ a** at SummerSlam.

Soon, the Monday Night Messiah would walk down to the ring. Rey and Dominik would quickly walk out of the ring, faking an escape.

Rey and Dominik would then plot a plan with some familiar toys. Soon, Rollins and Murphy would be tied to the ropes and get assaulted by kendo sticks. At the end of the segment, Rollins and Murphy managed to escape.

Rey Mysterio and Dominik Mysterio have fought together till now

Dominik Mysterio and Rey Mysterio have been like each other’s shadow since this feud started. When going got tough, the father and son would always stand by and for each other.

For the initial few weeks, Dominik would only accompany his father but not indulge in the action much. However, after Extreme Rules, Dominik would be seen in action for the first time when he attacked Rollins and Murphy post their vicious attack on Aleister Black.

On the August 3rd edition of Raw, Dominik challenged Rollins to a match at SummerSlam. By the end of the night, The Messiah would accept after another kendo stick assault by Dominik.

On the August 10th edition of RAW, Dominik would get trapped by the Messiah and his disciple after signing their SummerSlam contract. Dominik would then be crucified on the ropes later that night and a vicious 30 kendo stick shots would follow.

This assault brought back Rey Mysterio, according to kayfabe. In real life, as Dominik signed his WWE contract, father Rey still had ongoing negotiations for weeks.

After loads of speculation, Rey Mysterio rejected AEW and has renewed his contract with WWE.
