It was hard to take your eyes off the SmackDown episode that aired a few hours ago. Another eventful series of matches saw a lot of drama as well as stages being set for WWE Clash of Champions.

AJ Styles shocked Sami Zayn

Sami Zayn returned a couple of weeks ago to assert his role as the real Intercontinental Champion. He has now entered the vendetta between AJ Styles and Jeff Hardy. He sought to put Styles out of the title picture first before setting his sights on Hardy.

However, AJ Styles managed to defeat him! Sami Zayn got a little too confident against “The Phenomenal One” and tried to kick him to the curb.

Catching AJ Styles, Sami tried to finish him off with a Helluva Kick, but Styles countered. Catching Zayn off guard, he then rolled him over for a pinfall victory.

However, Styles could not enjoy his win as Jeff Hardy decided to crash the party. The current, legitimate Intercontinental Champion wrecked both the Superstars and brought out a ladder.

Hardy signaled a ladder match, which has become the most famous symbol he has been associated with. Hardy with a ladder is just as entertaining as it could get.

Zayn and Styles refused the take-up Hardy at the time and realized that he was the alpha in that situation. There will now be a triple threat ladder match for the Intercontinental Championship at Clash of Champions which is bound to be exciting.

Bayley had no mercy on Sasha Banks

Sasha Banks was undoubtedly furious after last week’s encounter with Bayley. Her “best friend” kicked her when she was down and unloaded the pent up rage in one of the biggest character turns.

Banks warned Bayley that she was going to take away what she cared about most- the WWE SmackDown Women’s Championship. Bayley wasn’t going to sit and listen to these threats.

She brutally attacked Banks once more with a chair. Bayley hit her former partner straight in the head from behind and attempted to further damage her neck.

Banks will not be able to compete with Bayley at Clash of Champions, but Nikki Cross will try her luck once more. Banks will just have to sit this one out.

Cesaro sent Gran Metalik home

It seems like its closing time now for Lucha House Party. Gran Metalik tried to beat “The Swiss Superman” Cesaro but was outclassed.

Flying from one place to the other, Metalik looked good and had his high points. Unfortunately, he flew too high just like Icarus. Cesaro caught him with a huge uppercut, after which he delivered the Neutralizer to pin his opponent.
