No matter what you feel about Raw Underground, you can’t deny that it opens up a plethora of possibilities. When you’re a WWE fan, that’s the most you can ask for.

On the current roster, there are many Superstars who can benefit from the style of combat that’s adapted at the miniature fight club. The physical style of brawl comes naturally to these Superstars.

Additionally, there are also many WWE Superstars who can’t get enough TV time because there’s simply nothing the company has for them. Sure, there’s the 24/7 title picture, but the way it’s been booked, you become a joke the moment you chase the green and gold strap.

In that scenario, Raw Underground acts as a perfect platform to give everyone a chance, introduce new faces and to put over Superstars who have been marred by bad storylines.

Who will appear on WWE Raw Underground?

Let’s get the obvious ones out of the way first – those who have an MMA background. Unfortunately, people will keep calling this a cheap UFC ripoff, and WWE itself will have no problem as it will overwhelmingly feature its crop of talent who’ve dabbled in MMA.

The biggest name who will appear, sooner rather than later, is Brock Lesnar. He’s the biggest UFC star to ever appear in the WWE and his style of combat is suited for Raw Underground. A perfect scenario for his return will be if Bobby Lashley takes out literally all competitors on Raw Underground.

After that, there will only be one name left. That will perfectly set up the much awaited Lesnar-Lashley battle.

Apart from Lesnar, the other MMA talents at WWE’s disposal are Matt Riddle, Shinsuke Nakamura, Shayna Baszler and Sonya Deville. While Riddle can challenge Corbin (who has a boxing background himself) to a brawl at the Underground, Baszler and Nia Jax can have the most physical battle in women’s wrestling history.

Talking about Nakamura, the lesser talked about his main roster booking, the better. The Japanese legend has been misused to a degree that he is an afterthought now. WWE can finally give him his due by building him as a legitimate threat on Raw Underground.

Non-MMA talent can also benefit from Raw Underground

There are some Superstars who have a physical style of wrestling and are also underutilized.

Consider the case of Sheamus. The Celtic Warrior will have little to do after the Jeff Hardy rivalry. He is also at the fag end of his career and would want to try out new things.

In that case, Raw Underground would serve as a perfect fit for his ground and pound style.

His former tag team partner Cesaro also comes to mind. The Swiss Cyborg is the strongest WWE Superstar pound for pound. I can totally imagine him taking Babatunde out with a giant uppercut and then taking him for a swing.

Apart from him, the presence of Dolph Ziggler on the first episode certainly showed promise. The show-off displayed some incredible technique which reminded us why he’s so highly rated.

Even with these big names, I’m just scratching the surface. There is an incredible pool of performance center talent who can find their big break through Raw Underground.

Additionally, we might see some legends returning. After all, it’s all about settling scores in a no holds barred environment.

Just imagine Triple H folding his corporate sleeves before getting his hands dirty with Kurt Angle. These scenarios create intriguing prospects for this new concept.
