Real or Fake: Seth Rollins Drops a Dubious Reply by Addressing the ‘Vicious Rumor’ of Arranging a Cake for Arch-Rival Cody Rhodes’ Birthday

This year, Cody Rhodes celebrated his birthday away from his family. His birthday falls on 30 June and Money in the Bank took place on 1 July in London, England. So there was no way he could fly back home to be around his wife and daughter during his special day and come back on time for the premium live event.

Therefore, his former foe, Seth Rollins, took the responsibility of making his birthday special for him. Rhodes, during an interview, revealed that the person who has no reason to like him brought him a cake backstage on his birthday. In a recent interview, Rollins addressed this incident in a dubious fashion.

Rollins recently had an interview with Ryan Satin on his Out of Character podcast. During the interview, Satin asked him to make some comments on him giving ‘The American Nightmare’ a cake backstage on his birthday this year.

“I will not confirm nor deny that…vicious rumor is out there. I’ll let the speculation run rampant on that one,” the World Heavyweight Champion replied. Rollins gave no specific answer and let the universe keep guessing on this matter.

It looks like he wants to build more intrigue around his current relationship with ‘The American Nightmare. He wants to add more mystery to the history with his former rival.

The history between Rollins and Rhodes

Rhodes’ first opponent after his return to WWE last year was Rollins. He was Rollins’ surprise opponent for WrestleMania 38. On Night 1 of the event, he defeated ‘The Visionary’. He again gained victory over his rival at WrestleMania Backlash. Despite having a torn pec, Rhodes defeated Rollins for the third time at Hell in a Cell.

The history between the two stars goes way back to 2013. On September 2013, he and his brother, Goldust, attacked Rollins and Roman Reigns (Shield members) on Raw, setting up a match at Battleground in October. They won their match at Battleground and also their contract with WWE.

On Raw 10/14/2013, the Rhodes brothers won the Tag Team Championship from The Shield after defeating them. Coming back to last year, as Rhodes had to take some time off because of injury, his rivalry with Rollins came to somewhat of a halt.

But with him interrupting Rollins on the 07/03 edition of Raw – before getting interrupted by Brock Lesnar – there is a possibility WWE may have something in store for the two stars in the future.
