WWE PLEs in December have been completely scrapped since 2021

December being the holiday month is when everyone from the entertainment industry takes a break from putting out new content to spend time with their loved ones. Right from musicians to streaming platforms to movies, everything resumes later in January the next year.

But the same was not the case with the WWE. They continued their normal programming all the way into the new year prior to 2021. December for the WWE was when the TLC: Tables, Ladders & Chairs PLE happened. But this feature was stopped in the year 2021 in favor of a New Year’s Day event called WWE Day 1 which was a one-off event.

All these changes happened after Nick Khan took over the responsibility and tried to have a better strategy in terms of WWE PLEs. He was the one who scrapped any WWE premium live event for December. And this rule has since been in place, as we see no PLE for December 2023.

Also, post the merger of the WWE and UFC, PLEs will now go through a bidding process. This will ensure that only the top cities secure the PLEs for them. Thus helping the city earn some revenue, as any other huge sporting event around the world normally does.

An insider source also confirmed that there will be no PLE for December 2023

BWE, a trusted WWE insider source on Twitter, was asked by a fan whether there will be any PLE in December. He stated that WWE does not have any plans to conduct a December pay-per-view event.

However, RAW, SmackDown and NXT episodes will continue to happen as normal. The next PLE, Royal Rumble, happens straight in January.
