AJ Styles recently made a move to SmackDown from RAW. Although the reason was unknown at the start, Styles opened up about the sudden change.

Now it appears there is more to the story. According to Raj Giri of Wrestling Inc, Styles left RAW after differences with the former Executive Director, Paul Heyman.

Paul Heyman was removed from his position by Vince McMahon. The Chairman of WWE had his own plans and wanted to change things around.

Apparently, he killed a number of Heyman’s ideas and now Heyman has been relieved of his duties. Bruce Prichard will now be handling both the brands.

AJ Styles moved to SmackDown because of other reasons?

Previously Dave Meltzer from Wrestling Observer had reported that Styles was furious over Luke Gallows and Karl Anderson being released. The duo was released as a part of budget cuts due to the ongoing global pandemic.

According to reports, Styles blamed Heyman for not fighting over their departure. The final call was Vince McMahon’s but the current Intercontinental Champion felt Paul Heyman could have done better.

The new Intercontinental Champion

Styles won the Intercontinental Championship tournament defeating Daniel Bryan in the final round. According to Pro Wrestling Sheet, Styles was announced to be a part of the tournament despite being part of RAW back then.

It was speculated that Styles would take part as a part of the brand invitation

Another revelation was that Styles was supposed to move to SmackDown after WrestleMania. He did not make the move due to some familial commitments.

At present, WWE is pre-taping all their shows, so Styles could have changed his mind because of the very reason.

Styles was announced as part of the Intercontinental Championship tournament this month despite being part of RAW. While walking to the ring tonight, however, commentary confirmed he was traded for ‘Superstars to be named later.’

This is a change from the initial reason given for his inclusion, which was WWE’s brand invitation. Styles moving back to SmackDown after WrestleMania had been rumored months back, but this was initially not possible due to family commitments he had on Friday nights.

“Now, with the shows being pre-taped for the most part, as well as children’s sports not happening, the move became possible,” Ryan Satin of Pro Wrestling reported.

The story gets more and more confusing with every coming week. We aren’t quite sure what the reason for his move was, Styles is a Champion again. His reign has just begun and fans know they’re in for a great ride.
