WWE RAW Underground is the latest introduction by the company to the wrestling universe. The Superstars fight each other in MMA style fights and the ring has no ropes.

In addition to these features, the first episode of Raw Underground also featured female dancers. A recent report might have revealed why this controversial idea was dropped immediately.

The removal of the girls was being seen as a result of backlash from the audience. However, that cannot be the reason in this case.

This is because the tapings of both episodes were on the same day.

Wrestling Observer Newsletter‘s Dave Meltzer has a theory as to why the girls did not feature from the second episode. The reason is none other than Vince McMahon.

The primary reason being that it could be a part of a good PR plan wherein WWE comes across as one of the leader’s in women’s involvement in sports.

“An interesting note between week one and week two is they dropped the dancing girls. Since last week and this week were taped together, that says after they taped the first installment, somebody convinced Vince, or Vince himself on his own decided the dancing girls don’t fit. It’s probably a good call because when you spend so much time pushing yourselves as leaders in women sports, even if you’re actually 50 plus years behind the actual leaders, presenting a show with that type of dancing girls does counteract that.”

Currently, WWE plans to move forward with RAW Underground. Considering that ratings have improved since RAW Underground commenced, one could say that the new addition by the company is going to be a success.

On top of that, this platform is a great place for Superstars to show-off their MMA skills.
