For the past few weeks, John Cena has been the talk of the town for his movie, F9. But for the wrestling world, the rumor of him returning at SummerSlam to face The Tribal Chief has gained momentum. Will he really be able to make it back?

The fans were excited to see John Cena back in action after months of being away from WWE. His last match in WWE was back at WrestleMania 36 when he faced ‘The Fiend‘.

So, it is pretty clear why the fans were ecstatic with anticipation for Cena’s return. However, there have been reports that suggest John Cena’s planned return to WWE could be in jeopardy as he will be part of a movie called “Argylle”. Apparently, the shooting will begin in August of this year.

It is understandable if Cena isn’t able to come back for a match as he has his Hollywood obligations to take care of. But the fans wished he could spare some time from his busy schedule.

But, here is some good news for the fans. Dave Meltzer of the “Wrestling Observer Newsletter” informed that fans should not worry about not being able to watch Cena at SummerSlam this year. He said that Cena might get “a few days off” if necessary for his match with Roman Reigns. He said,

“No word on when he shows up for television, but Cena is free of responsibilities for acting work at this point and until after SummerSlam. Cena vs. Reigns is locked in as the main event for the show. However, Cena is in a movie called “Argylle,” a spy thriller which will be shooting in Europe in August. It’s possible he could start after or end prior to the date, or even get a few days off.”

Who will face John Cena at SummerSlam?

We ask this question because ‘The Head of the Table‘ is set to face Edge at Money in the Bank PPV this month. With the WWE Universal Championship on the line, the winner of the match might determine who Cena will face at SummerSlam.

If you ask us, ‘The Rater-R Superstar‘ has little to no chance of defeating the Big Dog as it won’t be good for business. Roman Reigns is carrying the WWE ratings on his back for the past year. The fans have finally acknowledged him as their Tribal Chief as opposed to rejecting him earlier.

Also, a Reigns vs Cena match seems to have more weightage than an Edge vs Cena battle. The fans want to see Reigns and the fans want to see Cena. Thus, the only logical thing to do here is book a match between the popular superstars.

Although both men have faced each other before at ‘No Mercy’, this will be the first time Cena will face a heel Roman Reigns. The fans cannot wait for the pay-per-view.
