REPORTS: WWE has Huge Plans for Eva Marie Following her Return

Amidst all the controversy surrounding the releases of several WWE talents, the return of Eva Marie has gotten a lot of flak. However, there’s a new potential update on her first appearance and also if someone will accompany her.

Eva Marie will bring a friend along for Raw debut

A talent like Eva Marie is much better suited in a manager/valet role. Her wrestling skills have never been her focal point, or else she would’ve been a multi-time women’s champion.

Her aesthetic value and now mainstream fame will draw eyes to screens, but there is another plan in motion.

Hearing the plans for Eva Marie’s return include her having a “muscle” of some sorts by her side. The two names I’ve heard most discussed to pair w/ her are Mercedes Martinez -OR- NXT UK star Piper Niven.

According to WrestleVotes, WWE is planning to have Marie return alongside a ‘muscle’. Like Shawn Michaels brought along Diesel with him in 1993, Eva Marie will bring bodyguard of sorts along with her.

The top two contenders are NXT’s Mercedes Martinez, and more shockinly, NXT UK’s Piper Niven.

Mercedes Martinez has seen main roster action during her stint in Retribution. Fortunately, NXT called her back to the black and gold brand, saving her from the stable that tanked hilariously. Re-entering the main roster scene alongside Eva Marie could be the right move for her.

Piper Niven is relatively unheard of and is a member of NXT UK roster. She hasn’t wrestled on American soil but has registered some brilliant performances in the United Kingdom.

Most recently, she faced NXT UK Women’s Champion Kay Lee Ray in a brutal Falls Count Anywhere match. Her in-ring style is quite similar to that of a Samoa Joe or Brian Cage; quick but incredibly strong.

What can we expect from next week?

We will finally get the much awaited return of Eva Marie on Raw next week. Fans will wait and see if WWE really delivers and makes her the next big thing in WWE, especially since ‘Evalution’ had more importance than the careers of Aleister Black, Lana, Ruby Riott, Buddy Murphy and Braun Strowman.

If she returns alongside Martinez or Niven, one can expect them to make a statement on their first appearance on Raw. Destroying a fan favourite like Asuka or Nikki Cross could announce them as a threat but confronting either Rhea Ripley or Charlotte Flair is jumping the gun.

WWE might be bold and insert her into a women’s title feud for SummerSlam, but they’ll have to face the backlash from every single member of the internet wrestling community.
