Just days after retaining her Women’s World Championship, Rhea Ripley has received bad news. At Payback, Ripley defended her gold against Raquel Rodriguez. At the PPG Paints Arena in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, Ripley received help from stablemate Dominik Mysterio.

However, the NXT North American Champion will not be able to help Mami during her next title defense.

Having a title has both its good and bad sides. While the upside is you get to walk around as a champion, the downside is having to defend it repeatedly, until you finally lose it.

Ripley, having defended it on September 2, will be up for another challenge next week. Her opponent is none other than Rodriguez herself.

After mauling Chelsea Green, the Texan announced the bout. The former Women’s Tag Team Champion said he has word from WWE’s Director of Live Events, Adam Pearce, that a rematch will take place on September 11.

She also said that Mysterio has been disallowed from making an appearance ringside. At Payback, he played a crucial role in Ripley’s successful title defense. But will she be able to do it on her own now? Time will tell.
