Though it’s a practice in WWE to flaunt tattoo counts in the body, Mami’s thoughtful body arts still deserve a special shout-out. Ripley has a collection of 20 tattoos engraved all over her chiseled physique. Like most other superstars, she rose to the numbers gradually and not immediately after joining the promotion. When she made her NXT debut, she had nowhere as much ink as she does today. But The Eradicator possessed a deep fascination with it since her childhood and it eventually culminated in making her entire body entirely a tattoo canvas.

Ripley’s neck tattoos are some of her oldest ones. She inked it in honor of her bittersweet chemistry with her on-screen NXT rival and off-screen friend, Tony Storm.

Another two largely visible tattoos rest on her arm and calf. The neck one represents a dagger, a silent signifier of trust issues, while the other renders a rose, a wolf, and a lady. While Mami didn’t decode the meaning, people perceive it as a symbol of self-growth.

The one that often made us stare longer is an iconic demon face majestically placed on her leg. Although this seemed a resemblance to her dark satanic gimmick, there’s another story underneath. The demon is actually a nod to her unbridled passion and love for heavy metal music. On her other leg, a giant mandala with roses blooms with grace. The Rose here denotes the memory of her loving grandmother, Rosetta. The “Woman wearing a crown” on one of her arms probably relates to her favorite song, Queen for a Queen by Motionless in White. There are a lot more unspecified tattoos stretching all over her body.

However, despite being this tattooed freak, Ripley had to go through some resistance from the company.

WWE censored Rhea Ripley’s wild tattoo exhibition several times

WWE has traveled through the Aggression Era and Attitude Era to the PG era and so have the rules and decorum relevant to each period. In the early phase, WWE was a lot less rigid in allowing tattoos. But in the modern era, there are some restrictions on the type of tattoos that can be featured live on TV.

Things can get sometimes get heated between Mami and the WWW, over her love for exotic skin art. She has reportedly been told to cover up her skin to some extent to hide some tattoos ahead of several events. To protest for this, the 26-year-old even went to some fake tats in the recent past.
