WWE Friday Night SmackDown: May 7, 2021, witnessed a huge return, a rematch, and a backstage confrontation. The Universal Champion, Roman Reigns, found himself directly or indirectly aligned with each of these segments.

One of the matches for the episode was a rematch between Seth Rollins and Cesaro. This was a WrestleMania rematch but worked in the favour of both Rollins and Cesaro.

If Rollins won, he could finish his rivalry with the ‘Swiss Cyborg’ on his own terms. However, Cesaro’s victory meant that he was free to challenge ‘The Tribal Chief’ with no one’s interference.

Coming to the match between Rollins and Cesaro, Rollins had a dominating position while Jey Uso and Jimmy Uso watched from ringside.

Now, there was a moment when Cesaro was out of the ring, and Jey Uso eyed him up and down. This is when Rollins came over to warn Uso he did not need any help, and Jimmy Uso super kicked Rollins.

This brief distraction worked in Cesaro’s favour, and he was able to bring Rollins back inside the ring and pin him.

A furious Seth Rollins confronted Roman Reigns backstage and had a heated conversation with him. He accused Jimmy Uso of costing him the match against Cesaro. Even though Roman Reigns agreed, Rollins warned him it was more of Reigns’ loss than his.

With the win under his belt, Cesaro will challenge Roman Reigns for the Universal Championship at WrestleMania Backlash.

Will Roman Reigns have a cousin to feud with on SmackDown?

Therefore, Jimmy Uso costing Seth Rollins the match so that Cesaro can challenge ‘The Tribal Chief’ is understandable. However, Reigns won’t take this lightly.

Towards the end of the episode, Reigns wanted to know whose side Jimmy Uso was truly on. Jimmy Uso reminded Jey Uso about the Hell in a Cell match in 2020.

Following this, when Reigns asked Jimmy Uso to acknowledge him, he didn’t respond and left the ring. Jey Uso went after his brother, and Cesaro used the moment to attack Reigns.
