Roman Reigns Attacks LA Knight, New General Managers, Top Tag Team Separated & More: WWE SmackDown Results & Highlights

The premiere of SmackDown was everything fans were expecting and more. From Roman Reigns and Triple H returning to the ring to Cody Rhodes and Jey Uso defending their tag team titles. This episode was action-packed and filled to the brim with twists and turns.

This was a perfect ending to a great week that started with Fastlane 2023 and ended with a great episode of SmackDown.

The show started off with John Cena getting the crowd at BOK Center in Tulsa on their feet. Ready to address the fans, Cena was interrupted by the return of The Tribal Chief, Roman Reigns. After a great back and forth, Cena introduced LA Knight as Reigns’ next challenger. The entire segment was a powderkeg of verbal explosions. It ended with Knight and Cena standing tall.

Brawling Brutes vs. Pretty Deadly

Winner: Pretty Deadly scored the pinfall after a folding press from Elton Prince on Ridge Holland. A returning Pretty Deadly with Prince & Kit Wilson took on Pete “BUTCH” Dunne & Holland for the first match of the evening. The match was good, with both teams giving it their all.

Backstage, we got to see Carlito, who returned at Fastlane 2023 to aid the Latino World Order against Bobby Lashley and The Street Profits. Lashley approached Carlito and asked to put hard feelings aside. However, Carlito was not a fan of what Lashley had to say. The Street Profits ambushed Carlito, leaving him injured.

A backstage segment showed Reigns with The Bloodline ordering Jimmy to send Jey Uso a message.

Bayley vs. Zelina Vega

Winner: Bayley picked the win after an interface from Iyo Sky. The match was quick and entertaining, with Vega putting on a fight against Bayley.

After the match, Damage CTRL attacked Vega, but Charlotte Flair came to the rescue.

Triple H entered the ring with Adam Pearce to make a big announcement. Hunter appointed Pearce as the GM of RAW, while former NWA Champion Nick Aldis would be the GM of SmackDown. Dominik Mysterio tried to interrupt but was taken out by Kevin Ownes. Owens arrives on SmackDown as a trade-off following Jey Uso’s move to RAW, thus bringing an end to the KO-Zayn tag team on RAW.

Backstage, we saw new signee Jade Cargill come face-to-face with Charlotte Flair. A quick and simple verbal exchange and the two part ways.

Austin Theory and Grayson Waller vs. Cody Rhodes and Jey Uso for WWE Undisputed Tag Team Championship

Winner: Cody Rhodes and Jey Uso were able to retain their title against Theory and Waller. Despite putting it all together, after a Cross Rhodes on Theory, Rhodes picked up the win.

Post-match, Reigns, Jimmy, and Solo Sikoa stop Jey and Rhodes on the ramp. A staredown ensued, followed by words by Reigns to Rhodes.

LA Knight vs. Solo Sikoa

Winner: LA Knight was able to pick up the win after a grueling match with Solo Sikoa. Jimmy Uso came to the aid of Sikoa, but Cena came out to remove him. After taking out Cena, Sikoa was taken out by Knight for the win.

During the celebration, Reigns attacked Knight from the back and stood tall as the season premiere of SmackDown came to an end.
