Roman Reigns Once Highlighted Why John Cena and Not Dwayne Johnson Changed ‘The Whole Game’ for Him: “There’s No Off-Season”

Roman Reigns is undoubtedly at the top of WWE right now. With the longest reign of 867+ days, the tribal chief has proven why he is considered one of the greatest WWE champions. He is currently the face of WWE and people are loving his new storyline. Reigns has undoubtedly influenced many rosters in WWE, but he himself was quite influenced by 45-year-old WWE superstar John Cena.

Yes, no matter how big rivals Cena and Reigns are on WWE. Behind the camera, Roman Reigns has learned a crucial life lesson from the 16-time world champion. A few years back, shared his feelings about several topics during a podcast named WWE After the Bell. There he highlighted why John Cena was the one who changed the whole game for him, and not Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson. He also mentioned that he learned how consistency leads you to the path where you can show your value.

During the podcast he said, “In this day and age, your run has to be pretty significant, you know what I mean, to really make waves. John Cena changed that whole game for us. Umm… it was a lot different for Rock and Steve. You know… they did their thing and it seemed like it was kind of a transition into the next guys. But, they had man, you gotta be able to hold it down for a while and show that you can do this for quite some time because there’s no off-season. And the real way to show your value nowadays is consistency, and I think that’s in everything, though.”

The major John Cena vs Roman Reigns Matches

Even though John Cena has had a great impact on Roman Reigns, but the cenation leader hasn’t got a chance yet to get a pinfall victory on the big dog in a singles match. Both superstars faced each other in WWE Money in the Bank pay-per-view for the first time. It was a ladder match for the world heavyweight championship, where John Cena turned out to be victorious.
