This was Roman’s third shot at the title after failing previously at WrestleMania and at the Greatest Royal Rumble. However, this match had an element of surprise. That surprise was Braun Strowman. Brock then turned his attention on Strowman and took him out with an F5 and some devastating blows with a steel chair. But Reigns took advantage of this and hit Brock with a spear for the win.

The two men produced a brilliant match. Both Brock and Roman refused to quit, even after getting hit by the finishers. But the ultimate twist came when Seth Rollins made this a triple threat match by cashing in his Money in the Bank contract right at the end.

Even though Brock was about to hit Rollins with an F5, Reigns speared Lesnar down. This gave Rollins an advantage as he immediately hit the Curb Stomp on Reigns for the victory.

Lesnar and Reigns also met each other on two other occasions. The pair were involved in a triple threat match with Dean Ambrose at WWE Fastlane in 2016 and also in a Fatal 4-Way Match for the WWE Universal Championship back at WWE SummerSlam 2017.
