A WrestleMania battle between Roman Reigns and The Rock has been an industry dream match for a while. However, WWE has never hinted towards this becoming a reality.
During an interview, Roman Reigns revealed which WrestleMania would be perfect for a match against his cousin.
Recently, WWE announced that WrestleMania 39 will travel to Hollywood. Hence, ‘The Tribal Chief’ believes that the ideal situation will be to bring the biggest box office attraction [Dwayne Johnson] to WrestleMania 39.

There’s not a huge chance of The Rock returning at WrestleMania; however, the WWE audience has been clinging onto the dream since he left the company to pursue other interests.
Does The Rock want to face ‘The Tribal Chief’?
Dwayne Johnson has previously expressed that if ‘The Rock’ was ever to return to the squared circle, a match against Reigns would be the best way to go. However, he does not want to associate himself with WrestleMania again because Vince McMahon will tie him to the events that follow.
He might be interested in returning for one WrestleMania; however, he doesn’t want to make it an annual occurrence for the years that follow. In such circumstances, the dream match might never happen.

Possible reason WWE is not making the dream match happen
WWE and Vince McMahon might not want to book Roman Reigns and The Rock for a match soon because of arena issues.
A match between the two Superstars will break the box office. Considering the fact that regulations allow only a limited number of fans inside arenas following COVID-19, it’s not a good idea to capitalize on this match.
It’s possible that by the time WrestleMania 39 comes around, everything will go back to normal. That’s when WWE can book this match and allow fans to fill up the stadium to capacity.

What are Dwayne Johnson and Roman Reigns currently doing?
Currently, The Rock is preparing for his latest NBC sitcom ‘Young Rock’. This sitcom will give the audience an insight into his childhood and his family background.

Roman Reigns is in a storyline involving Kevin Owens and Adam Pearce. He will face Kevin Owens at Royal Rumble 2021 after Pearce bowed out because of an injury. As a WWE official, he selected his own replacement.
