Roman Reigns Seemingly Confirms His WWE SummerSlam Plans With a 5-Word Message

The question that has been on every lip since Roman Reigns’ monumental victory at WrestleMania 39 is what’s next? He has conquered every challenge that was thrown at him, including fan-favorite Cody Rhodes. And now The Tribal Chief might have given an idea about his future plans.

He has been on a lighter schedule with WWE in recent times picking and choosing his appearances. A recent peak into his social media activity hints at his role in the 2023 SummerSlam PLE.

Roman Reigns’ latest message could have SummerSlam implications

WWE’s Twitter account urged the fans to grab tickets for the marquee event scheduled to take place in Detroit this year. Reigns responded to the post by writing, “You know what to do”. Followed by an emoji that denotes the trademark index finger pointing to the sky gesture.

The message from the Undisputed WWE Universal Champion all but confirms his presence for the night. It makes complete sense from the Stamford-based promotion’s perspective to have arguably their biggest talent available for ‘The Biggest Party of The Summer’.

He would most likely defend his prized title belts but who will face him remains to be seen. There are a handful of opponents who could fit the bill perfectly.

Who could face Roman Reigns at SummerSlam?

The obvious choice would be Rhodes as the wrestling juggernaut could have the perfect storyline heading into SummerSlam. The American Nightmare is currently tussling with Brock Lesnar and has issued a challenge for the Backlash PLE. Lesnar’s blatant attack on Rhodes also led to a message from his half-brother Dustin Rhodes.

Another option that WWE could go in would be ‘The Architect’ Seth Rollins. There is an obvious history with Reigns owing to both sharing a common past with The Shield faction. There won’t be many complaints if they do decide to take that route.

An out-of-the-box choice could be the Intercontinental champion, Gunther. He has proved his stellar ability by constantly shining in the squared circle and is surely destined for greatness in the future. Though it may feel like a long shot, wrestling fans are well accustomed to the phrase “Never Say Never.”

Roman Reigns’ recent remarks have given fans a clue that he might compete in SummerSlam this year. His time at the summit has been nothing short of historic. Fans would be gunning to see who emerges as the next challenger to The Head of The Table. It remains to be seen whether they are able to usurp Reigns or become his victim.
