The Universal Championship picture is a pretty confusing one. Out of everybody, WWE official Adam Pearce is now the #1 Contender for the ‘Tribal Chief‘ Roman Reigns’ Universal Championship. Pearce didn’t want any of this, but when you rub the ‘Head of the Table’ the wrong way, this is what you get.

Roman Reigns is a transformed athlete on an elite level others can’t reach. Last night on SmackDown, Roman Reigns and his cousin Jey Uso attacked Shinsuke Nakamura and Adam Pearce during the Gauntlet match; Uso then picked up a lifeless Pearce and laid him on Nakamura for the referee to count the pinfall.

The ‘Tribal Chief’ sent out a warning to Adam Pearce following the rather controversial victory to become the #1 contender. He had some strong words for the WWE Official. Roman said Pearce should enjoy his time being relevant because of Roman and also warned him he is only safe till the time Roman allows him to be.

Adam Pearce shouldn’t take this warning lightly from the Universal Champion. All that is happening is the wish of the ‘Head of the Table.’ Pearce got inserted into the Gauntlet match because Reigns wanted him there.

Why Adam Pearce out of everyone?

Anyone winning from the original six men of the gauntlet match would’ve been a great opponent for Reigns, but that’s not how it works on the ‘Tribal Chief’s’ island. Adam Pearce made Kevin Owens vs Jey Uso official last week and this didn’t sit well with Roman Reigns.

The only reason Adam Pearce won last night was because Roman Reigns wants to make him suffer. Roman wants Adam Pearce to understand that there is no double-crossing the ‘Head of the Table.’ Nothing on SmackDown happens without his wish.

Adam Pearce is a former NWA Worlds Heavyweight Champion, but he hasn’t wrestled in over six years. His actual chances of wrestling Roman Reigns at the Royal Rumble actually look bleak. After all, Pearce is an official and he could very well replace himself with someone more deserving, maybe a returning Kevin Owens or an enraged Shinsuke Nakamura?

If Adam Pearce wrestles Reigns at the Rumble, do not expect it to be a long match. The ‘Tribal Chief’ will make him suffer and once the lesson is learned, he will put him to rest. What do you think of this program between Roman Reigns and Adam Pearce? Share it in the comments below!
