Roman Reigns Shows Off His Incredible New Tattoo

Traditional hand-tapped tattoos have been tied with Polynesian culture since time immemorial. It was like battle armor for tribal warriors of the past. Now, it has become a statement and a symbol of heritage. WWE Superstar Roman Reigns recently revealed a new addition to his arm and chest-piece tattoo. Reigns started his inking process many years ago, with a full sleeve cover on his right arm, which extends up to his chest. Now, the same piece has extended to his back and the side of his body.

Reigns is a part of a giant family of extremely notable wrestlers, including Rosey, Rikishi, Umaga, Yokozuna, Roman Reigns, The Usos, Nia Jax, and Tamina Snuka. Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson, his father, and grandfather are related to the family as blood brothers. All of the members of the Anoa’i family have been tattooed with the traditional Polynesian tatau, as a sign of respect to their ancestors and culture.

Reigns have spoken several times about the significance of his tattoos, and about the cultural significance, it carries. All of his tattoos had been put on by Mike Fatutoa, aka. Samoan Mike.

Reigns evidently used all of his free time out of WWE programming and have progressed his tattoo further.

He revealed online, the tattoo extending all the way down to his back and the right side of his torso. This would definitely have been a long grueling process, but ultimately worth it, as it looks that good. Reigns’ tattoos are a tribute to his family, and also as an intimidation factor.

Roman takes specific care about what his tattoos signify, and has revealed his most personal piece of ink. A turtle on his wrist, with a flower on its shell, which signifies his oldest daughter Jojo. Being a true family man, Reigns has stated before that this tattoo was not one many people knew the significance of.

It makes perfect sense for him to have this etched onto his skin, as Reigns infamously opted out of appearing on Wrestlemania 36 to take care of his wife and newborn children.
