There’s no one in the WWE Universe who is already not engrossed in the roster’s current hottest story. Sami Zayn’s feud with his villainous stable The Bloodline and its leader, Roman Reigns, has attracted more traction than ever. Now, fans are more concerned about Zayn’s status, as that will determine if the wrestling fanatics will get to see a match they wish for. If not, then their aggression will turn on the Men’s Royal Rumble winner, Cody Rhodes. 

A recent statement by former wrestler Mick Foley shows his concern for the promotion. According to him, an incorrect decision by WWE will not only land Rhodes in trouble, but might also turn fans against them.

WWE legend’s concern over Roman Reigns vs Sami Zayn 

In a recent episode of FOLEY is POD, the WWE’s company ambassador warned the promotion to be more careful. The legend spoke his mind when asked if Zayn’s WWE Elimination Chamber match would receive the loudest reaction from fans. 

He said, “I would think so, man.” 

Foley didn’t stop here but also reflected on the other side of the coin, which pointed at the 38-year-old’s one-off match. He believes that until now; the storytelling has been pretty strong. However, to grow in the same manner, WWE needs to book matches more carefully in order to handle the delicate situation.

“WWE has to be really careful in how they treat what they have in Sami Zayn. So if it’s a one-off, I think fans will be upset and subconsciously take that out on Cody,” Mick added. 

It must be confusing about The American Nightmare‘s role in a feud he is not even a part of. 

How the hottest WWE storyline might affect Cody Rhodes

The foremost thing to understand here is that everything is connected to each other. If The Underdog from the Underground just gets a one-off against The Tribal Chief and fans didn’t get the chance to see the most anticipated match at WrestleMania, it will surely upset them.

As a result, they will take that out on Cody. Because then he will be the one challenging for the title to fight against Reigns in WrestleMania 39, being the Rumble winner. This will shatter millions of hearts who wished to see Zayn against The Powerhouse. Therefore, WWE must handle this complex situation with perfection. 

All of this makes Foley concerned about the higher authority’s treatment of Zayn. He feels it is important that they pay attention and respect to the one who is considered ‘The gift that keeps on giving.’ And the company shouldn’t have to rely on the title shot to be the peak of his storyline and then soon forgotten.
