WWE is slowly kicking into the next gear for WrestleMania 40. While WM is the biggest spectacle, it’s sometimes the journey, i.e. the Road to WrestleMania, that’s more exciting. With the Royal Rumble 2024 PLE just 4 months away, fans might finally get some answers about the potential Rumble winner. However, contrary to speculations, it could be neither Cody Rhodes nor Dwayne Johnson. 

In a blockbuster piece of news, potential spoilers on the winner of next year’s Rumble match have been discussed, and Triple H might have an ace up his sleeve. 

Is Triple H choosing this superstar to win the 2024 Royal Rumble?

While Roman Reigns has been the Undisputed champion for over 1120 days, WWE has kept Gunther as an underrated player.

The 36-year-old, who is no joke in himself, has established himself as the longest-reigning Intercontinental champion in history with over 472 days as champion. Though he defeated Honky Tonk Man’s record of 454 days as the IC champ, WWE has bigger plans for the star.

According to the latest reports by The Wrestling Blog, the star has “good support and admiration from WWE”. They also laid out the blueprint as to how he could capture the win at the January PLE.

This is huge if it actually works out for Gunther, as he is a solid workhorse for the company. Though chances of him facing Reigns are slim, keeping in mind the return of The Rock and Rhodes, he has every opportunity to face Seth Rollins for the World Heavyweight Championship.

If WWE takes that route, then the 36-year-old will have to drop the IC title soon, preferably to WWE Universe’s emerging favorite, Chad Gable.

The only man who could logically dethrone the Ring General

The two technicians met in an epic clash last month in the main event of Raw. The hard-fought match saw The Ring General picking up the victory over a gutsy Gable.

The match was so well received that it made a legend like Mark Henry cry. He wasn’t the only one, as Gable’s daughter also exuded emotions seeing her father lose.

With the chemistry and storyline weaving in itself, it makes for the perfect time for WWE to pull the trigger for Gunther to get a main event push and giving Gable the title.
