Wrestlers criticizing the WWE and decisions made after leaving the company aren’t anything new. The latest name added to the list is Bill Goldberg. During an interview, he criticized the Head of Content, Triple H‘s decision to end his undefeated streak in the WWE. While Goldberg’s opinion on the topic holds weight, this invited the ire of rapper Ice Cube’s son, O’Shea Jackson Jr. But what did Goldberg say that got the vocal wrestling fan so riled up? Here is everything you need to know.

Goldberg disses Asuka and Triple H for ending his undefeated streak; O’Shea Jackson Jr hits back

During a recent interview with Nothing Left Unsaid, the interviewer asked Goldberg if he harbored any ill feelings toward the WWE. Goldberg left the company in 2003 before returning in 2016 for a run that lasted until 2020. In response to this question, he said, A girl beat my winning streak… beat my undefeated streak. Yeah, I can’t even remember… ‘A-soo-ka’ is her name. Some Japanese girl.”

Goldberg’s undefeated streak in the WWE amounted to 914 days with a 173-0 win streak. Asuka surpassed the 914-day undefeated streak from 2015 till WrestleMania 34 in 2018. This was something that took place while Goldberg was back in the WWE. However, this did not sit well with O’Shea Jackson Jr. Taking to social media, Jackson Jr. said, “This some salty s**t right here.”

During the interview, Goldberg also touched upon how many wrestlers were using his finisher, The Spear. Jackson Jr. had an answer for this as he claimed that Goldberg’s Spear was still a finisher while other wrestlers used it as part of their move set. Apart from The Tribal Chief, not many wrestlers get the win using The Spear. Jackson Jr. listed down several wrestlers’ finishers, which he claimed were not even finishers anymore.

According to Goldberg, The Spear was supposed to be his finisher, but others were not allowed to use it. He also noted the increased use of the move during his time in the WWE ahead of his second departure. The idea of letting Asuka’s undefeated streak surpass Goldberg was Triple H’s idea. This decision resulted from the WWE’s desire to make Asuka a sinister threat in the women’s division after her debut in NXT. Many WWE fans even pointed out how disrespectful Goldberg sounded while making the claim. What do you think? Was Goldberg disrespectful to Asuka? Were the fans right to call him out over the “Some Japanese girl” comment? Tell us in the comments.
