“Salute”: Cody Rhodes, Seth Rollins & Other WWE Legends Gives Edge a Perfect Farewell Post SmackDown

Edge struck with everyone’s emotions on the latest edition of SmackDown. The superstar delivered a thunderous bout with Sheamus, captivating the audience in Toronto. While fans have tuned in to congratulate Edge and thank him for his service in WWE, it seems like WWE superstars don’t want to be left behind in the race.

As we nearly come to an end in what might be his last match ever, WWE superstars have taken to social media to share their opinions on the 25th anniversary of Edge.

Fans have flooded social media with their desire to see Edge compete more and not retire after his match against Sheamus.

With them taking over the internet in the last few days, Edge dropped a throat-numbing post on social media, which melted everyone’s heart. 

In the post, he mentions how he’s been wrestling for 31 years since he was 18, and out of those 31 years, 25 years he spent with WWE. While that’s truly remarkable, he also mentioned how he wishes to soak in the atmosphere and wishes to be an 18-year-old again.

As soon as the picture dropped, fellow WWE superstars were quick to respond, acknowledging the mighty entity, that is Edge.

While we do expect superstars close to him to send their heartfelt messages, the Rated-R Superstar also received mentions from his bitter old rivals as well.

WWE superstars acknowledge Edge

The star who’s turning 50 this October, gave a concerning update on his future, leaving fans extremely worried. With The Rated-R superstar being vocal about his last contractual match against Sheamus, people around have come to terms with the inevitable. 

Most of the superstars commented on his post on Instagram. 

Matt Cardona, aka Zack Ryder, who worked under Edge while feuding with The Undertaker in 2008 said:

“The man”

One of the greatest women superstars of all time, Trish Stratus, said,

“Toronto’s own … 🐐❤️”

Edge’s fellow Canadian, Natalya also commented by saying:

“Excited to watch you shine, Adam!❤️”

Beth Phoenix, Edge’s wife, quoted: 

“All I see is Lyric.”

While Instagram gave these sweet reactions, Twitter produced its own shocking mentions. However, it was Seth Rollins and Sheamus and Cody Rhodes, who grabbed eyeballs with their reactions.

Sheamus, who fought against him, after the match tweeted:

While Sheamus got very emotional and celebrated with Edge post their match, Cody Rhodes gave his salute to the champ.

Seth Rollins went for a silent approach in a series of tweets.

While he didn’t do anything, his tweets symbolized the immense respect he has for the man. For those unversed, Rollins and Edge were involved in arguably the best feud of 2021.

It’s safe to say the Hall of Famer has etched his name in the record books, but what’s more cherishing is the respect he commands from the WWE roster.
