Seth Rollins, Roman Reigns, and Dean Ambrose worked one of the better factions in WWE history, The Shield. With time, the faction broke up, but it lasted longer than WWE wanted.

During Rollins’ conversation with Stone Cold Steve Austin, The Drip God revealed that the company wanted to break up the faction, but none of them were ready for it.

“They wanted to go to Ambrose and Roman and at WrestleMania 30 in New Orleans. I was left out. Maybe a special referee or something. I was like, ‘Are you kidding me?’ They wanted to break us up and we had just turned the corner into being babyfaces.”

Not only were they not ready, but they also knew how much money was on the table with The Shield. Therefore, they had to talk to Triple H, and let him know their side of the story.

“Over time, it was like, ‘they’re too cool, we can’t boo them anymore.’ We were like, ‘No. What are you doing? We’re not ready for that yet, we have a whole run as babyfaces. There’s a lot of merch money on the table.’”

Ultimately, Seth Rollins, Roman Reigns, and Dean Ambrose went against The Evolution, before they broke up.

“We wiped the floor with Evolution, it was a clean sweep in the elimination match. They pull us into the office and say, ‘tonight is the night.'” H/t Broken Skull Sessions

Seth Rollins could reunite with Roman Reigns

At this moment, Rollins and Reigns are still with WWE. Dean Ambrose moved to AEW as Jon Moxley.

Coming to The Drip God and The Tribal Chief, the duo could potentially work in the same storyline on SmackDown. There was a brief period when they paved the path for Edge’s storyline with Rollins after The Rated-R Superstar took on Reigns at WrestleMania 37.
