The long-awaited WWE WrestleMania Backlash pay-per-view event finally commenced today [May 17, 2021]. There was a mixed bag of results with many surprises. Some Superstars were able to snatch the titles from the reigning champions while others, not so much. Bayley falls into the latter category.

Bayley calls out Bianca Belair

On the 17th of May 2021, we witnessed one of the most anticipated matches of the WWE Backlash PPV. The match was between the reigning champion Bianca Belair and the challenger, The ‘Role Model‘ Bayley. Following Bayley’s defeat, she quickly took to Twitter to show her disapproval for the ending of the match. She tweeted,

“I tried to tell you she didn’t have what it takes to be a champion!!!!! She takes short cuts and is in desperate need of your approval! I won’t stand for this Bianca Belair“

Bayley is complaining about the ending of the WWE SmackDown Women’s Championship match. She also attached a picture of the pinfall where Bianca is seen sitting on top of her and hooking Bayley’s leg with her long hair. Bayley is extremely furious with Bianca for pulling such a stunt and vows revenge at any cost.

Bianca celebrates her title retention

Whilst Bayley was tweeting out her frustrations on her loss, Bianca expressed her happiness on her victory. In a tweet she wrote, “𝒽𝒶𝓅𝓅𝒾𝓁𝓎 𝑒𝓋𝑒𝓇 𝒶𝒻𝓉𝑒𝓇…. Your SmackDown Women’s CHAMPION! Fairytales do come true Bayley I’m not you and you not me. Remember that! #AndStill #WMBacklash”

Even though Bianca retained the title at Backlash, we don’t think that her feud with Bayley is over. WWE might have to book another match between the two women superstars, as the finish of the match was a little speculative.

Bayley’s complaints could be justified as the use of Bianca’s hair could be debated as unfair means.

If the pressure continues, WWE officials might not have any other options but to comply with the demands of the fans. But for now, the WWE SmackDown Women’s champion can bask in her own glorious victory.
