Why did WWE release AOP from their contracts?
There are different speculations in circulation. Some are of the opinion that the creative team did not see eye-to-eye with them and thus, their contracts came to an end. On the other hand, it is rumored that the continuous injuries have a role to play in the release of AOP from WWE.
Akam and Rezar made their debut together on NXT during 2016. At that point, their manager was Paul Ellering. Both of them quickly became fan favorites on WWE’s black-and-gold brand.
A victory in the Dusty Rhodes Tag Team Tournament is a shining jewel in their bag of achievements. Furthermore, they won the WWE NXT Tag Team Championship titles after defeating Johnny Gargano and Tommaso Ciampa (#DIY) at Takeover: Chicago (2017) during a ladder match. They held on to the title for three months before Sanity took it from them.
