WWE fans watch WWE Superstars with their iconic gear in the ring. Some of them are just for show, while others hold some kind of significance. One of the WWE Superstars who fans get to see in his iconic gear walk out to the ring often is Roman Reigns.

The ‘Tribal Chief’ of WWE Roman Reigns is highly praised for his new look since his return in 2020. Before his return, Roman Reigns used to wear a different gear in black color (the shield gear). However, his return in 2020 has not only changed his character but also his look.

Roman Reigns won his Universal Title in 2020, defeating The Fiend and Braun Strowman in a triple threat match. Over the past year, we have seen Roman Reigns with a new gear, which includes his Superman punch glove on his right hand.

He used it for the first time at the Hell in a Cell pay-per-view against Jey Uso.

He used a golden glove in most matches, and many people had many different opinions about Reigns’s glove. However, Reigns spoke about his golden glove in an interview with Ryan Satin on Out of Character. Reigns said, “With the character, I said it before, everything that I touch turns into gold.” This is the idea behind the golden glove.

But wait, do you know Roman uses another glove other than his golden glove? Reigns also use a red glove.

The significance of Tribal Chief’s red glove

Eventually, Roman Reigns has used his Red Glove only on rare occasions. The first time he wore was at Monday Night Raw on September 20, 2021. It was before the Extreme Rules pay-per-view where Big E and Roman had a showdown in a 6 -man tag team match.

The last time Reigns wore the Red Glove was at Survivor Series. At Survivor Series, Reigns competed against the WWE Champion in a Champion vs Champion showdown where he was victorious.

The Red Glove resembles the Roman Empire, the Roman soldiers. In Roman Mythology, the color red is a sign of blood and courage. It was the color of God of War, Mars, and the color of the army.

Reigns is a fighter who certainly believes in destroying his opponents. And the Universal Champion Roman Reigns is the Tribal Chief who rules his kingdom.

Until now, Reigns has used three different gloves in his gear. The first one is the black gloves which he wore before his heel turn, the second one is his Golden Glove, which he uses in most of his matches, and the last one is the Red Glove, the symbol of a Roman God.
