Smackdown Superstar Thanks Rey Mysterio for Gifting Him “The Most Amazing Weekend” in 20 Years

The WWE legend Rey Mysterio is an inspiration for several WWE superstars. Many young wrestlers have admitted to idolizing Mysterio in their childhood. And that’s the reason that the WWE Hall of Famer keeps on receiving love from the other superstars.

And the same happened when the SmackDown superstar Santos Escobar thanked Rey Mysterio a few days after their match against The Judgement Day.

SmackDown superstar pours love for Rey Mysterio

The WWE SmackDown superstar Santos Escobar recently came on Twitter and shared a picture of him and Rey Mysterio posing on the ramp. In the post, Escobar thanked Rey Mysterio for an amazing weekend in his career. He mentioned that it was the best weekend of his career since he worked with his father, twenty years ago.

“The most amazing weekend in my career since working with my dad over 20 years ago… GRACIAS @reymysterio #ARRE”, wrote Escobar.

On last week’s SmackDown, Rey Mysterio and Santos Escobar joined forces to compete against ‘The Judgement Day’. Even though Finn Balor and Damien Priest won the match, Mysterio and Escobar showed amazing teamwork.

This was Escobar’s biggest match since he joined the WWE main roster. He has always considered Mysterio as an inspiration. However, this is not the first time when Escobar showed his love for Mysterio.

WWE Universe gets a new stable

The on-screen chemistry between Santos Escobar and Rey Mysterio started when he gifted his mask to Rey calling him an inspiration in a backstage segment. And in return, Mysterio also gifted him his own mask. 

Later he also kept on aiding Rey Mysterio in his feud against Dominik Mysterio and The Judgement Day. And finally, in March 2023, Senior Mysterio reformed the ‘Latino World Order’ making Escobar a part of it.

Seeing their in-ring chemistry, WWE Universe has also started wondering if both Latino superstars are related to each other. However, there is no biological connection between Escobar and Mysterio, it is their similar wrestling style that makes them an amazing team.

And now that WWE fans have approved their stable, it would be interesting to see if creative decides to keep on carrying it.
