During a recent interview with Sports Illustrated, the ‘Phenom’ had a ton of praise for WWE Universal Champion, Roman Reigns. He noted how Reigns’ character has been the best thing since his return and he’s proud of him. Taker hoped he still had some matches up his sleeve, as he would’ve loved to work with this version of Reigns.
He said, “I think he’s a great heel – coldhearted, calculated. There is a compelling backstory and you still feel the tension when Roman appears. Like I said, I’m really proud of him. I wish I had the gas in the tank to work a program with him now. It would definitely be something special.”

The Undertaker and Roman Reigns wrestled at WrestleMania 33. Although Reigns wasn’t the ‘Head of the Table’, he was the ‘Big Dog,’ a heroic figure – the ultimate babyface. Which obviously wasn’t what the fans believed in.
Roman Reigns is way over as a superstar as the ‘Head of the Table,’ than he was during his post-SHIELD days. His attitude, his presentation, his in-ring work, everything is just on a different level. We can only fathom what a compelling feud it would’ve been if this version of Reigns had met a ‘Deadman‘ in his prime.
In all senses, if that would’ve happened, it could have been dubbed as ‘Mega Powers’ of the Modern Era colliding. Who would’ve won? Well, that is tough. But knowing WWE and The Undertaker as a pro wrestler, he definitely would’ve put over Reigns like he put over guys like Austin and Rock clean in the past.

It’s a shame that we can only imagine what could’ve been. But the WWE Universe can be grateful because they at least got to see the two in the same ring quite a few times. May it be against each other or with each other.
