Snoop Dogg on Ric Flair: “He Represented What We Wanted to Be. We Wanted to Be Ric Flair”

The two-time WWE Hall of Famer Ric Flair has achieved all that this wrestling business has to offer. However, one thing that he did was to subconsciously inspire people from other sports, other cultures.

From NBA superstars to baseball fanatics, everyone knows who The Nature Boy is. The WWE Hall of Famer inspired multiple hip-hop artists and has featured in some songs as well.

However, the hip-hop legend Snoop Dogg recently confessed that The Nature Boy was an inspiration to the hip-hop community for a long time and it was all because of his over-the-top character.

The 16 time World champion took to his Twitter and posted a brief video where Snoop Dogg confesses in an interview that he wanted to become Ric Flair.

He confessed that people wanted to copy his mannerisms and his style and charisma.

“As a kid growing up watching Ric Flair. He was very inspirational to myself and a lot of other hip-hop artists. Because he represented what we wanted to be. We wanted to be Ric Flair, we wanted to be flamboyant. The kiss stealin’, wheelin’ and dealin’. We wanted to be all of that. He was a part of our culture and our life and that’s why we love him and we cheered him. We’ve always held him high in the Black Community because Ric is one of us.” he said.

Ric Flair was always larger than life

Back in the 80s and 90s, this was what made Ric Flair a class apart from everyone all around the globe. It was not only his in-ring presence and performance but it was his skills as someone holding the mic and having a wonderful hold over the audience.

Stepping down from Lamborghinis with a bunch of women by his side, Flair certainly made a statement with his looks back in the day.

Many believe that this gimmick from Ric was drawn as inspiration from legendary Gorgeous George who had the same antics back in the 50s and 60s.

However, no one else could replicate the level of success of WWE Hall of Famer Ric Flair between the ropes and in the business.
