In the WWE, stars mentioning other wrestlers for big match wins is a big thing. When a known wrestler shares who they think should win a match or storyline, it is seen as a sign of respect. So, why did Seth Rollins completely brush off Cody Rhodes in a recent interview?

Since his return at WrestleMania 38, Rhodes has seen a massive push. The American Nightmare has been involved in some great feuds and is a top babyface in the company. So, what made his former Rollins snub Rhodes despite celebrating his 38th birthday?

While talking to SHAK Wrestling, Seth Rollins had an interesting answer to the question, “Should Jey Uso be the one to dethrone Roman Reigns?” He answered, “If it ain’t me, it’s Jey Uso.” This was a big surprise, given that Rollins had just celebrated Rhodes’s 38 birthday. Rhodes has been feuding with the Tribal Chief ever since he returned to the WWE.

While Rollins did not explain why he picked Jey Uso to dethrone Reigns, fans speculate it could be from a storytelling perspective. Additionally, while Jey has bad blood with his cousin Reigns, keeping it in the family will make for a more compelling story.

This snub does not come as a surprise. In a recent interview with Chris Van Vliet on Insight, Rhodes said, “Seth and I are not friends. It doesn’t look like we’re heading towards friendship.” Rhodes went on to praise Rollins for the great wrestler he is and how he feels Rollins is underutilized. This could be a reason why Rollins did not mention Rhodes’s name. He concluded the interview with the line, “I couldn’t ask for a better sparring partner in that sense,” adding to his respect for Rollins.

When Roman Reigns created The Bloodline to rule over SmackDown with an iron fist, Jey Uso was his right-hand man. He was loyal and faithful to Reigns. The Usos enforced his rule and ensured no one messed with the Tribal Chief. Unfortunately, after months of answering to Reigns, Jey betrayed the Head of The Table to side with his brother. This got one of the loudest pops heard in the WWE.
